The DSRV Avalon is now on display at the future Morro Bay Maritime Museum site. One of only two ever built, the Avalon is the only DSRV on display for public viewing. Special thanks to all those who worked to make this happen inlcuding, the City of Morro Bay, The Navy Historical Society in Washington D.C., the Deep Submergence Unit at NAS Coronado Island, Phoenix International, San Diego and the office of Congresswoman Lois Capps. We also received technical assistance from Dwight Peterson Trucking and Specialy Crane and Rigging. These folks made moving a submarine look easy!
A special thanks goes out to the late Nancy M. Clemens. Nancy's support over the years has been invaluable in moving the Maritime Museum project forward.

The Small Boat Display Begins
Thanks to the support of the City leaders, staff, and volunteers in the community, Morro Bay now has a small boat display and interpretive kiosk. The display is located on the site of the future maritime museum which is accross the street from the south T-pier.
